Emergency Visits

Dental emergencies can be stressful for both children and parents, especially when pain or injury is involved. At Sunbeams Pediatric Dentistry, we prioritize emergency visits to provide relief, reassurance, and timely care when your child needs it most.

Whether your child is experiencing tooth pain, swelling, or a dental injury, our team is here to help guide you through what to do next.

🌞What Qualifies as a Dental Emergency🌞

Emergency visits may be needed for:

🌞Toothaches or severe sensitivity

🌞Broken, chipped, or cracked teeth

🌞Knocked-out or loose teeth

🌞Swelling, abscesses, or infections

🌞Injuries to the lips, gums, or mouth

If you’re unsure whether something is an emergency, we always encourage you to call or text our office for guidance.

🌞What to Expect During an Emergency Visit🌞

When you arrive, our priority is to identify the source of discomfort and help your child feel better as quickly as possible. We may take X-rays, perform an exam, and discuss treatment options based on what we find.

We take the time to explain everything clearly to parents and answer questions before moving forward with care.

🌞Comfort Comes First🌞

Children in pain often feel scared or overwhelmed. Our team uses calm communication, gentle techniques, and reassurance throughout the visit. We focus on stabilizing the situation and relieving discomfort while keeping your child as comfortable as possible.

🌞Support for Parents🌞

Dental emergencies can feel overwhelming. We’re here not only to treat your child, but also to help parents feel informed, supported, and confident in the plan moving forward.

What Constitutes a Dental Emergency?

Most dental emergencies fall into one of three main categories:

  1. Health
  2. Function
  3. Aesthetics

Are you unable to eat, or do you have a chipped front tooth that’s too embarrassing to face work or school? If so, you need an emergency dentist who can see you as soon as possible, ideally the same day.

Some of the most common dental emergencies we treat include sharp or broken teeth, gum swelling, pain, and hypersensitivity. Other frequent issues include soft tissue lesions, such as ulcers under dentures, abscessed teeth, and traumatic injuries. Our team is here to provide prompt and compassionate care when you need it most.
